Project your rug design straight and to size
your files never leave your device
When you project a rug design onto your cloth to trace it, it usually lands skewed or at the wrong size. Rug Projector lets you drag the four corners of the design to where they belong on the cloth, so what you trace is correct.
- Connect a projector and upload your rug design (PNG or JPEG).
- Drag the four corner handles to where the corners of the design belong on your cloth.
- Turn on the grid to check the real size, go fullscreen, and trace the design with a marker.
- Does it work with any projector?
- Yes. Rug Projector runs in the browser on the computer driving the projector, so any projector that can show your screen works.
- Is this the same as keystone correction?
- Yes. Keystone correction is the technical name for straightening a projection that lands skewed. Rug Projector does it in the browser, corner by corner, and fixes the size too, so your projector doesn't need a keystone setting of its own.
- How do I project the design at the right size?
- Set the rug's real width in centimetres and turn on the grid. Each square is 10 × 10 cm (adjustable), so you can check it with a tape measure on the cloth.
- Can I mirror the design?
- Yes. You tuft from the back of the cloth, so one switch flips the design for you.
- Can I project only the outlines?
- Yes. Outline mode turns the design into white lines on black, which is easier to trace, and Remove background clears the background color.
